A world connected through stories

IU Books & Beyond is a collaborative leadership development project that increases critical literacy skills and develops multilingual, intercultural models for cross-cultural teaching and learning.

IU Books & Beyond is a University Student Organization. We are affiliated with the African Studies Program and the School of Education at Indiana University Bloomington.

Recognizing that collaboration is the key to success, the program’s university students mentor younger learners in authoring, illustrating, publishing, and marketing an annual collection of short stories entitled The World is Our Home

The World is Our Home

The university students who lead Books & Beyond mentored younger learners in authoring, illustrating, publishing, and marketing an annual collection of short stories entitled The World is Our Home from 2009-2018. Everyone involved developed specialized knowledge and an impressive set of professional and life skills.

Publication was paused due to the pandemic in 2020, but we hope to resume in 2023. Past volumes are available on ScholarWorks.
